Hello everyone!
Today’s session is a very important one, first because it is about a topic that I know you’ve expected anxiously: music. And also because we have only a couple more sessions left, that’s why I think it’s important to remind you all of a pair of important keys to ensure a good mark in the blog sessions:
*No translation websites are allowed, if there’s anything you don’t know you can ask me, or visit some online dictionaries such as wordreference.com, Cambridge online dictionary, urbandictionary, among a long list of good options.
*Visit and comment on your classmates’ blogs, and make sure the *minimum* word count is met for every one of your posts.
Well, having said that, let’s go to the point.
Music
“Life without music would be a mistake” Friedrich Nietzsche
Throughout my life, music has been there all the time. The first band I remember I liked was Queen. My godfather bought a videotape (haha, it was probably 93-94) named “Queen Greatest Hits II” and I spent a whole summer season watching it and there I became a Queen fan. I remember “singing” the songs as a child (I probably didn’t know a word in English and got all the lyrics wrong, but I definitely sang them).
Funny thing is that I got to meet Mr. Brian May and Roger Taylor when they came to Chile for a concert in 2008, as a part of their Queen + Paul Rodgers tour. Payment wasn’t good, but being a waiter at Hyatt hotel certainly left good memories, like this one.
I also have a short career as a VERY amateur drummer, during teenage years with a group of friends. Long story short, we played a little and performed at a couple of small events. We weren’t very good, and not bad either, but we sure had fun while it lasted.
Now, it’s your turn: write about music in your life. As this was a topic we chose, you have freedom to decide what the aspect of music you will write about. Here there are some ideas:
- - What music means to me.
- - My favorite bands or artists.
- - My best memories related to music (either as a musician or as the audience of a live performance).
The minimum word count is 180 and you should have this post uploaded by the end of the hour. Don’t forget to comment on at least 3 of your classmates’ posts. You can see their blogs on the list on the right of the screen.
