Blog session n°9 Movies
Dear all,
This is our last week with a blog session to perform.
As you know, this time, and due to the different factors that changed our semester, we will have two blog posts to share. This particular blog will be about movies.
Here's a sample of what you may want to write about.
I'm not really sure if I have a favorite movie, I mean, of course there are many movies that have caught my attention and have made me think for a long period of time. If I had to name some of my favorite ones, I'd have to start with Fight Club, not only because of its plot, but also beacuase of the acting and the amazing ending. Other favorite titles include Pulp Fiction, The Matrix triology and many of the Spanish Director Alex de la Iglesia, with titles such as El Crimen Ferpecto and Brujas de Zagarramundi.
Some bulletpoints that may help you develop your writing are:
*what's your favorite movie? why?
*who's your favorite actor or actress?
*do you have a favorite director or genre?
*how do you prefer to watch movies? At home? at the cinema? etc.
The minimum wordcount for this post is 190.
Don't forget to interact with at least 3 of your classmates blogs'.

Blog session Nª8
Hello everyone!
Today’s session is a very important one, first because it is about a topic that I know you’ve expected anxiously: music. And also because we have only a couple more sessions left, that’s why I think it’s important to remind you all of a pair of important keys to ensure a good mark in the blog sessions:
*No translation websites are allowed, if there’s anything you don’t know you can ask me, or visit some online dictionaries such as wordreference.com, Cambridge online dictionary, urbandictionary, among a long list of good options.
*Visit and comment on your classmates’ blogs, and make sure the *minimum* word count is met for every one of your posts.
Well, having said that, let’s go to the point.
Music
“Life without music would be a mistake” Friedrich Nietzsche
Throughout my life, music has been there all the time. The first band I remember I liked was Queen. My godfather bought a videotape (haha, it was probably 93-94) named “Queen Greatest Hits II” and I spent a whole summer season watching it and there I became a Queen fan. I remember “singing” the songs as a child (I probably didn’t know a word in English and got all the lyrics wrong, but I definitely sang them).
Funny thing is that I got to meet Mr. Brian May and Roger Taylor when they came to Chile for a concert in 2008, as a part of their Queen + Paul Rodgers tour. Payment wasn’t good, but being a waiter at Hyatt hotel certainly left good memories, like this one.
I also have a short career as a VERY amateur drummer, during teenage years with a group of friends. Long story short, we played a little and performed at a couple of small events. We weren’t very good, and not bad either, but we sure had fun while it lasted.
Now, it’s your turn: write about music in your life. As this was a topic we chose, you have freedom to decide what the aspect of music you will write about. Here there are some ideas:
- - What music means to me.
- - My favorite bands or artists.
- - My best memories related to music (either as a musician or as the audience of a live performance).
The minimum word count is 180 and you should have this post uploaded by the end of the hour. Don’t forget to comment on at least 3 of your classmates’ posts. You can see their blogs on the list on the right of the screen.

Blog session N°7 Food, everybody loves food.
Hello everyone!
This week's post is undoubtedly one of the most expected ones for the semester. It's true, we all love food, but what kind of food is your favorite? do you have any special recipes that you'd like to share, or maybe you want to show some of your culinary techniques. Well, here's my post, I hope it is interesting.
I don't know if you can tell by just looking at me, but I do love food. I love eating and also I love cooking! Did I ever mentioned I went to a technical high school? well, yeah! I did, There I studied cooking, I even did an internship at a Casino Company downtown, I prepared all kinds of food during those years, and I learnt lots of interesting stuff.
About 4 years ago I became a vegetarian, so that changed my point of view in many aspects, and of course: it changed my way of cooking. Even though I never was a big fan of meat, I used to prepare meals containing meat, but not anymore. Ever since I quit eating dead animals, my universe of vegetables and other vegetarian options opened up to a whole new level, and so I began a long and tasty road of experiments in the kitchen.
Here's a picture of one of my creations
"Vegetarian Empapanada"
It's like empanada, but the dough is actually mashed potatoes, and it's filled with soy meat, onions, garlic, chili peppers, and cilantro.
Another recipe I did, is the one in the picture: It was sauteed wild mushrooms and zuccinis with a hint of ginger and garlic, plus some vegan tortilla of fried grated potatoes and garbanzo bean flour, accompanied with rice. It looks delicious, doesn't it? well, I can promise, it tasted great!
I really enjoy cooking, it takes up a lot of work, but it's great to taste great combination of flavors right after you've finished the preparation.
It's now time for you to create your own post. Please tell me about:
- The type of food you prefer
- Your favorite plate or ingredient
- Any special recipe you know, or maybe would like to try
- and any other food related comments you may find interesting.
Don't forget to write comments on your classmates posts.
Word count, 180 words minimum.

I know what you may be thinking:
"this seems familiar, mmmm Lord of the Rings?" That's not it.
Even though it does look like it was taken from the fantasy world created by Tolkien, it was actually taken last Sunday 10th of May, in the city of Pucón, 19 kilometers away from the Villarica volcano, by a photojournalist named Cristóbal Saavedra.
The night sky lighted up by the active volcano, a beautiful and stunning picture. There are many reasons for me to like this picture, for example, I like it because it shows a very unusual sight for a night, and also because it reminded me of the Lord of the Rings’ city of Mordor, where evil had its headquarters.

It doesn’t matter if you read the books or
you watched the movies. What the picture shows, is clearly a sign of what
nature can do, and having the opportunity to witness such an amazing natural
process, makes me feel more connected to the Earth’s natural course of action.

Pets!
Hello everyone!
As I mentioned in class, today you'll have to write a second post.
The first of a series of free themed posts that we chose during the first lab class.
So, what do you have to say? here's a list of requirements:
Do you have a pet?
what is it?
how long has it been with you?
what do you do when you're with them?
and any other comments that you would like to add.
The minimum wordcount for this post is 140. If you have a picture of your pet (s), add it please, and as usual, you will have to comment on AT LEAST 3 of your classmates posts.
You can find the list here >>>>>>>
Here's my own post:
Harrison and Marley.
I currently have two pets. A three year old dog, Harrison, and a one year old female cat, Marley.
Before I adopted Harrison, who I found on the street when he was a puppy, I didn't like animals so much, I mean; I did like them, but I didn't love them.
When in 2014, I decided to move to Copiapó, I took Harrison with me, and there I adopted Marley, my cat. At first, the relationship between them was not good, specially because she didn't accept him, but he's a friendly dog and eventually they became very close :)
Now that I'm back in Santiago, I only live with Marley because there's not enough space for a dog, and as I work everyday, it made sense to have him live with my parents. That gives me the perfect excuse to visit them and enjoy some time playing with him.
Now it's your time to post!
Please email me when you've posted your blog!
Have a great weekend!
